Stefanie Denz

Stefanie Denz, MFA,(University of Auckland) is an artist, educator and long time resident of SaltSpring Island. She has received awards; Commonwealth Scholarship, Canada Council Grants, and BC Arts Council Grant and her work is in private collections in NZ, Germany, USA and Canada. In 2014 she attended Transart Institute Residency in Berlin, and recently she became a certified Art Therapist. 
Stefanie is interested in relationships and how that shapes the composition. Her paintings often include found materials disrupting the image and bringing attention to the surface. Stefanie is inspired by the magic of every day and subject matter can include family, friends, movie stills, media sources, architecture, dreams and local environment. She looks for a feeling she cannot define.
